About Pedro Silva

Pedro Silva is a figurative artist raised in Portugal and currently resides in Hannover.

He works across painting and drawing. Being his paintings mostly composed of figures along various vivid colors that form unique shapes and lines, carefully placed in the canvas until the desired harmony between them it´s achieved.

The artist inspiration comes from different ideas that come to mind, related with the stories of each person in the everyday life. Stories that he occasionally finds in movies, books, music or other sources.

His process is followed by sketching out the raw material extracted from all these sources, with the goal to create an interessant story with Pedro´s own compositions.

He is self-taught and devotes a lot of his practice on observational drawing as well as the studying of the old masters, using mediums like ball point pen and his favorite, the charcoal.

In almost one decade creating art, the artist has participated in some group exhibitions at local art events.

Pedro´s recent work are a serie of two acrylic paintings exploring the day of the dead from the mexican culture. The paintings are to be exhibited at the Kunstverein in Hannover, from the 1st to 16th November, 2025.
